Ship Oliver Cromwell records, 1777-1779.

Financial records of the Connecticut war ship Oliver Cromwell, under the command of Captain Timothy Parker. Shipping bills give the names of men enlisting on the vessel, their duties, and their pay. Accounts are for supplies for the vessel and also for recruiting sailors. Bills also represent items purchased for the ship and the men. Orders of payment are for Parker, instructing him who should actually receive the wages if not the sailor himself. Finally, there is a bill of lading for indigo going from Charlestown to Nantes on board the Oliver Cromwell and a list of wood needed for building vessels for war use.
